Religious

[Note to readers: Most of these essays were written many years ago, shortly after my reception into the Catholic church. They remain here as a testimony to my life’s journey, and are not intended to urge anyone to adopt any particular religious worldview.]

Born Protestant, I was received into the Catholic Church in Easter 2014.

I was attracted mainly to the doctrines of redemptive suffering and communion with the saints in Heaven (because with my out-of-the-box thoughts, it was–and still is–difficult for me to find deep communion with fellow members of a certain church/parish/religious community). I was a quite prolific writer of Catholic-themed books and essays from 2015 to 2020.

As I went through my MTS in World Religions program at Notre Dame (I graduated with my MTS degree in 2021), I learnt about other religions and their worldviews. My current religious worldview is still evolving, but I will always try to honor all the noble elements present in all religious traditions and philosophies while also staying true to my Catholic beliefs and convictions.

These essays were mostly written between 2015 and 2019, with a smattering of essays written in early 2020. As my thoughts and opinions are constantly evolving and may not be identical with my past or future thoughts, each reader is encouraged to be brave in finding inspiration from all sources in order to find the best paths in his/her life journey. Welcome and happy reading!
